MODX EVO store is the first repository for MODX EVOLUTION
Start developing
The first step was the creation of installer packages. It took a couple of hours, since in fact all the code has long been present in MODX in the install folder here here you can read about it.
Well and further already a trick. After discussion with Bumkaka that is a priority and started to work. To do decided on the basis of MODX EVOLUTION.
And here 3 weeks later after the idea is ready to present you our small startup.
While the functionality is not very large and the plans for the improvements very much. But I would like to elaborate on some points that set our repository even on the background of the analog for MODX REVO. So from words to deeds:
Your and only your personal repository
A common repository is good, but surely every developer has a lot of own developments, which are either too valuable or not yet finalized for publication in the community, or just no desire to share them. Here in MODX REVO for this you need to write your own Repository. We have the opportunity to post their achievements and use them at their discretion.
Once many people have reasonable questions: what about security, and if I'll post your package who assures me that he will not be leaked to the net and all that work down the drain etc etc? To this question the answer is very simple: we do not store your solution on the server.
After a brief reflection, it was decided to only store a link to the package that gives you the ability to store packages anywhere, for example on Dropbox, Yandex Disk, on the server or anywhere else, opening up access only at the time of use of MODX-STORE.
Also it gives the ability to easily upgrade packages, both personal and public, for example, using GitHub. In fact all the decisions that we have common repositories are already stored here: https://github.com/modx-store/
This will give an opportunity for everyone to participate in supporting your favorite extensions and always use fresh versions.

For a start, the use of MODX-STORE, you have to do just 2 steps:
