"VolgaCTF" 2016 raises the sails
Many readers already know about the team competition in computer security or CTF. On habré there are several articles covering the competition (habrahabr.ru/post/64216, habrahabr.ru/post/263473, habrahabr.ru/post/252303).

For those who read it first: CTF (Capture the flag) – team competition in computer security. In the classic sense: the team protects your server against attacks from other teams and she tries breaking into someone else's server, to get the flag. There are task-based: given a number of tasks on steganography, cryptography, web administration, reverse engineering, recon test (information search), and some others.
Our team from Samara 6 years is organizing this competition, and this year was no exception. Very soon (almost on the nose) "VolgaCTF" will begin in 2016. Competition will be held, as usual, in 2 stages: 25-26 March (this weekend!) round-based tasks and 12-16 September full-time. Full-time stage will be invited to the winners of the qualifying round: 5 teams of the Volga Federal district, 4 from other regions and 3 foreign teams. In the job list of this year's classical problem; the "legend" competition – the struggle for the open-source in the face of artificial intelligence. Registration will be opened after the start of the competition, so if you heard about them on Saturday morning, you can still have time to participate.
Last year competed 604 teams in 14 finals, including teams from Moscow state University, Penza, and Saratov universities. Muscovites took the top prize. The results can be seen in the group "VolgaCTF" vk.com/volgactf.
"VolgaCTF" was first organized in 2011 at the initiative of the team Koibasta, and was supported by the Department of information technologies and communications of Samara region. Initially the competition was only full-time (and, as a consequence, regional), together fought only 8 teams. But next year the competition came to an existing format. Habré published an article on the trail "VolgaCTF" 2012 (habrahabr.ru/post/142131). The author then participated as a member of one of the teams.
A little jar personal experience: in JOY300 (in the article above is the job of the fountain/histogram, actually consisting of words), my eyes caught on individual typographical errors in the standard text of SOPA. We also arrange Russian Cybersecurity Competition – new team competition in computer security, which will be held may 12, 2016 in the traditional format CTF "capture the flag". They will be held in the framework of the exhibition "Svyaz-2016". Invited teams from different Universities and regions. Guests will have the opportunity to observe the course of the competition. Despite the fact that this year's exhibition closed, the next event is planned to invite everyone.
